Fashion Show POLONETS. New Jersey
On November 22 and 24, in the USA, charity events "Inspired By Ethno" organized by the Union of Ukrainian Women of America UNWLA Branch 137 Clifton NJ took place, where the new collection of the POLONETS brand, inspired by the traditional outfits of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, was presented.
The idea of researching the outfits of the eastern regions of Ukraine arose during the second higher education majoring in Fashion Forecasting. Designer Oksana Polonets devoted almost a year to the search and research of found artifacts, of which there were not so many, because the eastern territories of Ukraine were the most affected by the destructive actions of a rabid neighbor, who has been deliberately destroying for several hundreds of years, smears and distorts the national cultural heritage of Ukraine, in particular in the east, in order to impose a false opinion and steal history once again. Read more about the research and conclusions in the article.
In the collection, the designer combined modern trends and technologies with exquisite features of the outfits of the researched regions, which resulted in a stylish collection of designer clothes, which includes elegant dresses, exquisite blouses and cardigans, stylish skirts and vests, stylized as traditional corsets, as well as wedding dresses. The highlight of the collection is the decoration of the inner parts of the clothes with a colored lining with a plant print. And the arrangement of an expressive stylish family tree on the back of the sleeves is the hallmark of traditional embroidered shirts of the Luhansk region.
The collection was presented for the first time on November 22 in New Jersey, in the exquisite hall of the Montclair Art Museum. The second event took place on November 24 in Pocono, on the shores of the lake in the elegant glass room of the Spa Resort. The guests of the events warmly welcomed the new collection and did not refuse the opportunity to try on their favorite things.
In addition to popularizing traditions, the goal of the event was to raise funds in the amount of 100,000 dollars. This amount will be used to purchase military equipment and uniforms for women soldiers who protect the borders of Ukraine.
Thank you to the Union of Ukrainian Women of America for the invitation and active support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine!
Together to VICTORY!
