
Famous Ukrainians in the Photo Project "PYSANKA OF KYIV REGION"
Cultural and artistic photo project "Pysanka of Kyiv Region", dedicated to the inclusion of Ukrainian pysanka in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in December 2024 and the bright holiday of Easter. The initiator and organizer of the project was Vlada Lytovchenko and the Cultural Heritage Committee "Vyshgorod Historical and Cultural Reserve" in partnership with the photo studio ETHNO FASHION by POTLOVA represented by Kateryna Potlova. The eggs were provided by the famous Ukrainian egg-maker Zoya Stashuk.
The photo project “Egg-making of Kyiv Region” aims to popularize the traditions of egg-making, including those of Kyiv Region, through a combination of traditions, symbolism, modernity, and unity of generations. To show that the Ukrainian egg is not only a unique tradition, but also a symbol of the revival and unity of Ukrainians in times of war.
The uniqueness of the project lies in the involvement of famous Ukrainians - cultural figures, scientists, military personnel, volunteers, public figures, who presented the Easter eggs of the Kyiv region: Zoya Stashuk, Oksana Polonets, Olga Sumska, Taras Kremin, Vlada Lytovchenko, Luke Jacobs, Nadiya Matveeva, Kateryna Potlova, Tetyana Vlasova, Tetyana Vyshniak, Anna Maksymchuk, Valentyna Demyan, Volodymyr Shchybrya, Kristina Stoloka, Igor Stepurin, Vitaliy Borisyuk, Hanna Borisyuk, Olena Shust.
Pysanka is a unique example of the multifaceted nature of Ukrainian culture, as it reflects regional characteristics, the influence of different cultures, and the individuality of the artist. The photo project will contribute to raising public awareness of the Ukrainian pysanka as a unique element of the National Culture of Ukraine, and to popularizing the traditions of pysanka making, in particular, in the Kyiv region. And will also integrate this element into the global cultural space.
